Happy Thursday Y’all!

Normally I would apologize for taking a hiatus from blogging for almost a week, but I have made a decision to stop apologizing. No reason in feeling bad for living my life and stepping away from my blog for a bit. Good idea, Yes?!? Can I get a Yee-Haw?!? I am sad that some of my children are going away for the weekend, but I am Thankful that we are going out to dinner at Outback tonight compliments of Wall Nut’s father. We happened to open up a letter with a gift card in it earlier this week. I totally love getting food in the mail Thanks guys!

We have finally finished the stair railing system that goes up to the second floor in our addition! It is so nice to be able to walk upstairs without an overly irrational fear of falling over the edge. I am so Thankful that is done!

We have also finished painting the walls in the downstairs of the addition. Just a few doors to finish painting…along with some touch up on the ceiling and we are done painting the addition (and I have no earthly idea how wall paint got on the ceiling, seriously, none) I am so Thankful that we are one step closer to taking a good looooong break from working on the addition!

I am so very Thankful that I was able to find an open window in the house the other day after E Nut locked myself and Wing Nut and Little Nut Nut out of the house. Yes, Wee Nut and Honey Nut were locked in the house while we were locked out, but Thankfully they were in their highchairs having a snack in front of Blues Clues and had no idea that there was the very real possibility that they were going to be sitting there for over an hour until their father got home. Thankfully, Little Nut Nut was easily tossed into a small window and after getting distracted by a few things on the way to the door, he eventually let us in.

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that my husband has a job, we have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

Wee Nut

Owain is my 3 year old, my Little Heart Kid & my Hero. He is Double Inlet, Single Ventricle with Pulmonary Atresia and Malpositioned Great Arteries. He has had 3 out of 3 Open Heart surgeries needed to “fix” his heart. The Heart is an amazing thing and I never know what to expect. He also has asthma and we are doing our best to manage that. He finally had his last surgery on June 24th 2011.

Wee Nut and Honey Nut have become a pair of serious partners in crime. The two of them together can cause more trouble than the older three. They keep me on my toes!

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.

I am thankful for a day that my children and I shared without yelling. I am thankful for the lesson on gentleness that has penetrated our home. I am thankful for Impress Your Kid because it helped me bring my faith home. I am thankful for friends and family who show their love in so many ways. I am thankful for the opportunity to stay home with my children. I am thankful for options. Finally I am blessed!

I’m a little late, but I am thankful for the trust that is shared between my husband and I. You never realize just how precious trust is until you have it in full measure. When you know no matter what happens, that person will never betray you or do anything dishonest to the relationship you share. I will gladly and whole-heartedly contribute a “Yee-HAW!” No apologies and no regrets: Mom was not made for the blog, but the blog for Mom!

Congrats on finishing the staircase. I’m also very thankful for our stair-railing. We used a very jerry-rigged, glorified ladder as a staircase for WAY too long and I tell my honey “THANK YOU” and “I love my staircase!” just about every time I go up or down it. It’s the simple things in life, don’t you agree?
