Thankful Thursday

After a much needed and not really intended break from the internet, I back for Thankful Thursday!

My parents came down to the Sunny Shenandoah Valley to meet up with us and load up their car and our van with vacation gear. We squeezed all 5 kids into the van and off we went to discover Historic Colonial Williamsburg and participate in the Homeschool Experience here, we are all so excited!! I am so Thankful for friends with vacation spots!

Sometimes technology gets the best of me, and because of that sometimes I feel every bit of my 40 years. It took me since last night to figure out how to get connected to the internet, but I finally did, and I am Thankful that Honey Nut and Wee Nut passed out in their highchairs after lunch and are giving me the chance to actually sit down and share Thankful Thursdays with you!

It turns out I forgot to pack quite a bit, the most important thing I forgot was my camera! Yes I forgot my camera. Gah! I also forgot food from the fridge that includes but is not limited to yogurt, cream cheese, catsup, mustard, grapes, red & yellow peppers, apples, Coke (aahhh!) and also forgot laundry detergent, flip-flops for the pool, bread, dog rolls, um diapers, beer, wine, coffee, bagels, coffee filters, sunscreen and most likely a few other things. How is it possible to forget so many things?!

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

So what are you Thankful for today? It is so easy to join in and tell everyone.

Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:

1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The Nut House and/or ourhappynuthouse.com so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to MckLinky.

Not everyone has a blog, so:

2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.

3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, a story, a vlog, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.

The past month has been difficult for me to get online and find time to update here. Even my own blog hop is getting neglected 🙁

I am hoping to get moving again this week 🙂

What do I not have to be thankful for? I mean, I feel like every day is “Thanksgiving”. Everything we have is because of the Almighty who is constantly faithful to provide our needs and then some.

I’m blessed abundantly to have a husband who is ultra-supportive. He loves that I enjoy being at home doing the wife and mother things. He’s a hardworking man who is generous on all scores toward me and our kids. He also has been my #1 fan in getting me pursue my dreams as a children’s author. I’m blessed to have three healthy and well-adjusted grown children; two are living on their own making their own mark in this world and our third is in our last years of our homeschooling program. I’m thankful to have my parents & in-laws still with us, as well as my grandparents.

My thanksgivings can go on, and on, and on. Whenever I feel like I don’t have much to be thankful for, these feelings are soon dashed away when I read an email or see a news article of how bad someone else is having it. I think about all the good in my life instead of what few shorting comings there are because as I stated someone out there has it worse off than I can even imagine.

I’m thankful for many things. I guess I’d like to focus on blogging today. It has given me an entirely new creative outlet and a new group of friends, readers and opportunities.

We had so much fun! We are already talking about going back next year. We were busy all day and just barely touched on everything to do there 🙂

Joining you for the first time…I’d been doing Thankful Thursdays a while ago on my own but fell off the wagon. Good to pick it back up though – hopefully I’ll be back to link up every week or so!

I seem to have fallen off the wagon in the past month myself, lol, hoping to get back into blogging again this week! 🙂
