One of These Things is Not Like the Other

Yes, you are looking at three Blackberries. And all three of them were delivered to me in the past 5 days. I bet you are wondering how I ended up with 3 of them, aren’t you?

So why do I suddenly have 3 Blackberries? About a month ago I plugged in my phone to charge and it wouldn’t charge. After a few days of trying to figure out what it was, we sent it off to be looked at. Two weeks later my phone was back at the phone store and I picked it up and I was reunited with my phone. The letter that came back with the phone said that it was the battery and they replaced it. We had a good few days together, my phone and I, and then when it came time to charge it, it once again would not charge. I was starting to get irritated.

I took my phone back to the store and after 2 ladies a the store tried to convince me that it was the phone charger and not the battery and they sent me off with a new charger…even they didn’t really want to listen to me when I said that the problem with the phone was with the charging port and not the battery or the charger. I need to get out of there and get on with my day, so I grabbed the charger and walked out the door. When I plugged the phone in that night, it wouldn’t charge. So back to the store I went again.

At that point I insisted that they send the phone back again. Just over a week later they call to tell me that my phone is ready at the store to be picked up. And that brings us to this past Tuesday.  I was talking on the phone and as we were talking I realize that my phone speaker is crackling. Fabulous, now I have another issue. After looking more closely I notice that the phone is all beat up and scratched. By now I was starting to get really annoyed. As I look at the package that my phone was in, I see a card that says Thanks for purchasing a refurbished phone. Yeah, I wasn’t really interested in getting my phone that I had only had for 1 1/2 months before it broke replaced with someone else’s old beat up phone.

This time I called customer loyalty and asked for a new phone to be delivered to my house so I didn’t have to go in to the store again, along with a return shipping label. Tuesday evening they said I would have a new phone by the end of the week. Which I did. I got my new phone Thursday, and I was so excited to finally be done with all of this nonsense that I opened it up and turned it on right away. I was disappointed to see that the screen behind the glass was broken and there were brown patches all over it. The red hang up/off button was also pink and when I turned the phone off the keypad doesn’t turn off. Fabulous.

Once again I was on the phone with my phone company and they agreed to send me a new phone with another shipping label.

I was shocked to get another one the very next day! I opened it up, checked it out and so far this one works.

Whew!

What an exhausting month of just trying to get a phone that works. I haven’t even had time to customize my phone and get it set up with all of my apps. It is going to take a little bit of time to get a relationship with this phone off the ground, but I think in the end my new phone and I are going to get along nicely and eventually I just might fall in love all over again.

For now I have sitting here next to me 2 broken phones and 1 that works with 2 return shipping labels on their way to me. I find it strange that just a few months ago I never thought that I would have even 1 smartphone and it is kind of a surreal feeling to look at 3 of them.

Can you guess which one is the one that works, and which 2 are the broken ones?

I have a tour also and am pretty darn happy with it! The email “send” feature isn’t working right now, but I LOVE everything else… my kids are addicted to the brickbreaker game that came loaded on it! Glad you got yours up and running!

I still don’t have everything set up “just right” yet, lol. But I am so happy to be done with the back and forth! I love this phone, but I have heard that the charging issue that I had is common. I just wish the customer service all around would have been better. My kids love that brickbreaker game too, lol!

Wow. Sorry for your bad Blackberry luck! I can’t guess at all which one works! That’s a hard one.
