Take it on Tuesday! And My 1st Etsy Sale

Tuesday is here again, and it is time for me to look around my house to see what projects I need to finish up, and which ones are due to be started. I have been feeling accomplished the past couple of weeks while we are settling into 3 kids that are homeschooling along with still getting my projects around the house done. In a few weeks we will be be starting our Holiday decorating to get ready for Christmas, and for my family to come visit. Last year they slept in an unfinished room in the addition with blankets on the door, and space heaters for warmth. This year we have a guest room…which is actually our homeschool classroom and we have enough space to move the kids around to other rooms, and still have room to move around.

Honey Nut and Wee Nut are still too young to put the Christmas tree in our new family room, so it will be in the dining room. It will actually fit in there pretty well now that the couch, and extra table are not in there any more. We will actually have room around the dining room table for Christmas dinner!

I do have to get the pantry/laundry room, and kitchen organized and cleaned up, along with finish organizing my office/studio this month. I love cooking and baking, and always end up keeping things that I don’t really use very often for just in case I need it. I have been going through my kitchen and pantry, and filling up bags for the thrift store. We decided to go back to the Salvation Army, and now only donate during their business hours so we are not dropping off bags that get rummaged through or stolen during after hours.

My new space is coming along much slower than I was hoping, but it is coming along. There is a lot to do, and the last thing I want to do is just kind of organize it, and not really be happy with it. So I am taking my time, and slowly working through it. That includes spending lots of time standing in the middle of the room and deciding exactly where things are going to end up – then usually moving them around again, hahaha.

One thing I have been doing to get my studio space organized and ready for the next stage in my jewelry making has been to get photos of all of my jewelry and getting it bagged up and ready for shipping and then listing everything on my new Etsy Store, The Nut House Creations. The other day I wrote about my new Etsy store here at The Nut House the day that I had started listing them. I am starting with all of my earrings that are made, and then will list my necklaces and bracelets. That was 3 days ago on Saturday, and this evening I just had my very first sale!  Yay me! I really wasn’t expecting to have a sale so quickly, but I am super excited about it. Not only does it feel awesome to sell a piece of jewelry for the first time in years (to someone who is not a friend or family member!) but it also feels awesome to hopefully start making money for my family again they way I used to. How awesome is it that I get to make money while organizing my studio?!? It is super totally rock’n amounts of awesome!

One of my goals this week is to get as many of my earrings listed as I can, hopefully all of them, but for now I am happy to get anything listed at all. If I can manage to get that done, a huge part of my studio will get organized as I pack everything up for shipment.

I think that continuing my new workspace, as well as tackling the kitchen and pantry/laundry room will be plenty enough to keep me busy this week. As long as chocolate has my back, I plan on taking it on this week!

OK. To sound completely lazy next to your, once again, astronomical goals – my goal for the week is … to do nothing. And it is actually quite a hard goal for me to accomplish. I have to rest and lay around and do nothing. Hopefully if I do this succussfully for one more week, I will be back on my feet. Congrats on selling some jewely. Your pieces are really pretty.

Thanks Tricia, I am super excited to be selling jewelry again 🙂

I could say that I wish I didn’t have anything to do, but I am not sure I would know what to do with myself, lol. I am getting close to finishing up the major organizing after moving into our addition, so I will have to find other things to replace that!

I hope you finish recovering and are up and around soon 🙂
