Thankful Thursday

Am I the only one who is relieved it is finally Thursday?!?  I am having one of those weeks where I just can’t seem to get cooperation from the kids and have spend the week living in a state of “what now?” and “what next?”

As a preface to today’s Thankful Thursday, I feel the need to once again complain, because I am digging deep to find things to be Thankful for today (aside from family and all that good stuff). In the past week or so, our cold water faucet in the bathroom broke, which the kids find to be much more upsetting than I do, our coffee pot broke and my slow cooker broke. Considering these are all things that we use every day, this is a big bummer and at the moment I am waiting for the next thing break.

BUT…It is Thankful Thursday and today is about being Thankful for the little things, for pushing all of the broken things aside and looking at the sunny side of life.

The most important part of today is that it is Veterans Day! I am so Thankful for all of our Veterans who had the courage and the strength to fight for our country.

I am Thankful that Amazon.com decided to man up and do the right thing by removing that disgusting book that I don’t really need to elaborate on. I spent most of yesterday contacting the news and spreading the word to help the boycott of Amazon books. Most likely if you spend any time online, especially on Twitter or check the online news sites, you know what happened. After taking down my Amazon.com links for CHD books, I will be putting that back up sometime soon.

I also want to Thank the crazy insane number of Mommy Bloggers who jumped to action and demanded that Amazon that that awful book down. I am so Thankful for the loud voice of Mommy Bloggers and the changes we can make if we use our voices.

I am Thankful that I made my first sale this week on my new Etsy store The Nut House Creations! It feels so good to start working again. I will not be making any new jewelry until I get all of my old jewelry that has been in storage photographed, packaged and ready for shipment, but getting my store up and running this past week is the first step in getting back work designing and making jewelry.

I am Thankful for Zoloft! With the Holidays coming, getting ready for them and trying to figure out how to get presents for this kids, I just might fall apart and melt into my bed for 2 months without it.

I am Thankful for Nutella. More specifically peanut butter, banana and Nutella sandwiches on homemade bread. Yummers!

I am Thankful for Homeschool and spending my days teaching my children.

I am Thankful that I was nominated for The Best Special Needs blog at The Bump and that I am a finalist. I probably won’t win, but it feels good to make it to the finals and to be in 4th place and not last.

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

So what are you Thankful for today? It is so easy to join in and tell everyone.

Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:

1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The NutHouse and/or ourhappynuthouse.com so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to MckLinky.

Not everyone has a blog, so:

2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.

3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, a story, a vlog, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.

Today I am most thankful for my husband. It is his birthday today, and he is out working late for us (our two children and me). He is a wonderful man who has given so much in the last three years while I have gone to school full-time. My husband is awesome, and today it is all about him.
