Take it On Tuesday!

This past week was so relaxing, but not really. Only kinda. Mostly because I finally conquered the massive piles of laundry. The downside of actually putting it away is the fact that I now have to go upstairs to get clothes for the kids. The upside of it, is that in combination with my ankle weights, the stairs are giving my legs a major workout.

Which leads me to my latest project for the week…finding a way to work out every day. The kids usually get a pretty tight grip on the Wii Fit and there is little time to fit mom in to the activities. I just have to remember to strap on my ankle weights every morning and I think that is a pretty good start to working out every day.

In last weeks post I mentioned how I had it in my head to start moving furniture around the house. I decided to move the kids playroom across the house. The kids helped me carry the furniture back and forth, and they now have a new playroom in the addition. Then I had them help me move all of their toys from old playroom, and most of them from the living room to the back of the house. We spent years working on the addition and since we opened up the back of the house in June, we have still been trying to figure out the best way to use the space. After spending the past month organizing the house, things are finally starting to fall into place.

So instead of cleaning out my new studio, I moved furniture around.

The pantry and kitchen are pretty much cleaned out and organized. Right now I am trying to find time to lay down some flooring in a closet in the back of the house, once that is done I will be able to finish cleaning out the pantry. I think Little Nut Nut is going to be upset when the closet is finished, he was playing in there earlier today, and calls it his office. If I am not careful I am going to lose my new closet to a 4 year old who needs an office.

We got our Christmas tree up over the weekend, and by up I mean that it is now out of the box, and standing upright. It does have 2 strands of lights on it, so I am calling it a success! The kids have already memorized how many days are left until Christmas, and spend the day telling me over and over how many days there are until Christmas. There are 25 in case you are wondering.

I have a huge pile of bags ready to go out to the Salvation Army – yes, there are more because apparently we have way more stuff than we need.

Since I am still recovering from the Thanksgiving weekend, my week will start tomorrow. It took the past two days to get the kids back on track with their homeschool. They were actually happy to get back to school, I was having a hard time concentrating though and every time I started to read to the kids I started to fall asleep. I keep waiting for one of the kids to slam their hand down on my desk to wake me up. In the past I have fallen asleep doing homework with the kids, it has been awhile though. I am doubling up on the caffeine this week!

I have to get my butt in gear, and get my studio cleaned up! I haven’t gotten anything listed on Etsy since last week, I took tons of photos, but still haven’t gotten them listed. I think I need to forget the rest of the house, and spend the week in my studio.

Oh, and finish putting up the tree.

Good luck getting the house organized. I find it so much easier to be productive when the house is clean and orderly. New follower from blog frog. Would love it if you stopped by sometime. http://www.thehickmanfour.blogspot.com. Since you homeschool you may also like http://www.touchofhomelearning.blogspot.com

Thanks Sara! The more I get organized the easier it is to keep up with things and be more productive in all aspects of my life. It feels so good 🙂

      Thanks for the homeschool link!

You go girl! I was home all last week with a sick 13 month old, who was up coughing all night, not to mention screaming because of the 4 (yes, 4) molars that are making their way through. We also got our tree up, put on a family dinner, completed most of my Christmas shopping, attended a kiddie concert and bought a new car…and let’s see that was before Monday…I can only guess what this week will bring!

Whoa, that sounds like a crazy weekend. Congrats on getting everything done!

My baby girl is 16 months and her 4 molars have been coming in for months. They take forever. She has been going in cycles, they really bother her for a few days and then she is fine for a few weeks and then she is miserable again. We are getting close to the end though, her molars are almost all cut through 🙂

I hope your baby girl is feeling better, and her cough is gone and those molars give both of you a break!

Let’s see. We have already been to four doctor appointments this week and have six more scheduled before Friday, so it really doesn’t look like it will be a very productive week. The tree is up, but the mess of boxes still clutter my living room. I would like to motivate the girls to remove those. I managed to check their vocab work for the last month today and verify all of their school hours from when they were away, but I still have several subjects to check and I need to enter their monthly summaries on the school blog. The girls managed to get all of their GS activities enetered on the GS blog today with my supervision, too. Maybe I could also manage to write a few thank you cards and send out some Christmas cards. Or maybe not. I am still having a hard time concentrating and very limited in activities I can do. I hope you have a blessed week.

Dr appointments can be so exhausting! I completely understand why you could have a hard time concentrating and getting anything done. It sounds like you have been productive with the girls the week though! Hope you you get some rest in between all those appointments!
