Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

As much as I don’t want to admit it, I came very close to posting Thankful Thursday yesterday. I don’t mean posting it early to get ahead of the game and actually be prepared for today. I mean that I spent most of the day thinking yesterday was Thursday. The kids are officially confused. Lets just say that I am Thankful for another day in my week to get things done.

I doing much better as the week goes on than I was at the beginning of it. I am Thankful that I was able to vent here the other day, and for all the kind words, support from everyone here, and on twitter & facebook. WooHoo, You Rock!

It seems that we have a mild stomach funk wandering around The Nut House this week. No vomiting, Thank You Very Much! I have changed more diapers that turned my stomach than I really care to remember. You know the kind of diapers that involves poop squishing out around the front, back and legs? The kind that overflows out of clothes? The kind that leaves a trail of nastiness behind that has you frantically rushing around the house with a bucket of hot soapy water, scrubbing the carpets, couch, walls, toys and anything else that they babies came in contact with in a matter of minutes? Those were and still are the kind of diapers that I have been changing this week. So why am I Thankful for this? As I settled into the couch last night, I noticed that smell, that horrid smell. I sat up looked around for a stray diaper. Nope, I don’t see anything. I lay back down and that smell is back. After searching for the source several more times, I started thinking it was all in my head. Then I realized that the smell was coming from a source just an inch from my face! I settled down on a throw pillow that had been tainted with rotten baby poop! The only thing that saved me from actually laying my face on it was that it was on the edge of the pillow, just around the curve of the pillow. Fabulous.

I am unbelievably Thankful that I did not actually stick my face in the baby poop, even though it was sooo close.

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that  we still have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

So what are you Thankful for today? It is so easy to join in and tell everyone.

Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:

1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The Nut House and/or ourhappynuthouse.com so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to Inlinkz.

Not everyone has a blog, so:

2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.

3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, a story, a vlog, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.

(I read about your kids. My youngest gained weight ok until he started eating real food (around 2 or 3- before that it was just toast and apple slices)
Then he basically stayed at 41 pounds until he was 7 and had become “Very ADHD”. We put him on something similar to the Feingold Diet. He caught up with his weight and is now just ‘moderately ADHD’.

Thanks for the information Kimberly! I am going to have to look into that.

I hate how his body is treating him. Right now we are in the middle of a bad week with him, but I think he is getting through it. Today was much better for him and he is much quicker to respond to me and “snap out of it” when his mood starts going down.

today- I am thankful we homeschool and take a day to relax and recoup from an overly stressful Mon-Wed.

(I’m visiting you via the Picket Fence community. I just joined today)

      Nice to meet you Kimberly!

I love how easy it is to fit relaxation into a homeschool day 🙂 I hope you got a good break.
