Starting The Framing on Our Addition

Within a few weeks of Wee Nut coming home from the hospital, we started to get to work on the addition.  There were mounds of dirt from the excavator and gravel all over the back yard and the kids were calling it their Indiana Jones Pit. They had a great time climbing all over the giant dirt piles and digging deep in looking for treasure. Then there was me on the other hand who had enough of the red clay that got dragged all over my house within a few weeks. But the kids were having a wonderful time and all I could do was let them…but that didn’t stop me from complaining about it.

There is not to much changed from The Beginning of Building Our Addition. We started by tearing off more of the siding and taking out the back door and boarding it up. The concrete was poured for our covered patio and the framing is started. You can also see how flat our old leaky roof was. We tried so many times to fix that roof and paid a roofer to fix it. It never stopped leaking. The winter I was pregnant with Owee, we had water pouring in through our bedroom ceiling over our bed. We had buckets under the part of the ceiling leaking over the floor, but there was no where to move the bed, so I had piles and piles of towels to catch the water that was dripping just over the edge of the bed.  It was awful. And a big pain the the butt.

My dad is carefully thinking about the next step.
Our new patio. If you look off to the left, you can see how far down the excavator had to dig down. We had to cut down 3 trees because the roots would have been dug up so badly.
Some more talking about interesting things.
Eventually the whole back of the house is coming down!
