Thankful Thursday – Year End Edition 2010

Happy Thursday!

I can’t believe that this is the last Thursday of the year!  We have had many ups and downs at The Nut House this year, but in the end we are stronger for our downs, and Thankful for our ups.

Wee Nut had a couple of scares early in the year, but ended the year as strong and healthy as he can be. We have learned how to manage his asthma, and his cardiologist is fairly certain that we can put off his next surgery until June or July. That is much better plan than we started this year with. I am so Thankful for the strength, and bravery of my sweet little Heart Hero.

In June of this year, we finally opened up our addition, and are super duper Thankful about that! It is not done yet, there is still plenty to do, but it is livable, and that is all that matters. We started the year with an empty shell on the back of our house, and ended it with a home.

After opening up our addition, we have space for a homeschool room, and now I am able to teach all of my children at home. I am so Thankful for the opportunity to teach my children, and spend my days with them. As crazy as all of it can be to be surrounded by 5 children 24/7, I love every minute of almost every minute of it – give or take a few meltdowns. I wouldn’t give up the new relationships I have with my children now that they are not in public school for anything!

I am Thankful for my family who travels over 8 hours to visit The Nut House as often as they can. Even though it is never often enough, or long enough, it always some crazy fabulous times when they are here.

Of course there are all the little things that we love around here that I am Thankful for, like Nutella, hot coffee on a cold morning, baby girl kisses, snuggling with my boys, and hours of family movie nights, and game nights. Oh, and chocolate.

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we still have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

So what are you Thankful for today? It is so easy to join in and tell everyone.

Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:

1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The Nut House and/or ourhappynuthouse.com so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to Inlinkz.

Not everyone has a blog, so:

2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.

3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, a story, a vlog, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.
