Celebrating CHD Awareness Day in Honor of Our Heart Heroes

Over the past week many Heart Families, have shared their stories and facts about Congenital Heart Defects to raise awareness of the Number 1 birth defect. Today is the last day of CHD Awareness week, and ends with CHD Awareness Day. We celebrate the amazing Heart and the power behind it. We celebrate CHD Awareness Day to honor all of the brave children who fight for their lives and for the angels that we remember today. CHD Awareness Week may be over today, but for those of us who run our hands over surgery scars, check to see how blue lips, fingers and toes are, use hand sanitizer like our child’s life depend on it, spray down shopping carts with Lysol, and can pack and get to the ER in the middle of the night in less time that it takes to wake up and stumble to the coffee pot on most mornings…we live completely Aware of Congenital Heart Defects and wonder why the entire world doesn’t know what the most common birth defect is.

I share with you just a few photos of my Heart Hero, the bravest, strongest little fighter I know!
