Ack! I Have been Diagnosed with a New Syndrome & 10 Things Tuesday

I can tell it is going to be one of those weeks when I it is only Tuesday and already I have no idea what day it is. Then it occurs to me that I am suffering from PDSTS.

Post Daylight Savings Time Syndrome.

This is not something that I can really deny. I have been doing a bit of research on how to deal with this and I have found that it is something that I can easily manage. Here are the top 10 Things that I can do to recover from PDSTS in a timely manner, if you think you might be suffering as well, please think about implementing some of these things into your day.

  1. Exercise…walk around the house several times to make sure that ALL of the clocks have been changed. This helps to avoid confusion as to when you are supposed to feed the family, go to bed, etc.
  2. Get plenty of rest…see #1 as to how to make sure that can happen.
  3. Diet, watch what you eat…you are going to need some feel good food. I suggest plenty chocolate and coffee ice cream.
  4. Pray…pray you don’t run out of coffee before you can get to the store.
  5. Organizing your kids activities…give them a bowl of snacks & plant them on the couch with a DVD of  Dora or Blues Clues on repeat play.
  6. Get plenty of time to yourself…lock yourself in the bathroom if you need to.
  7. Pull out those emergency funds…you are gonna need them when you realize you forgot to make dinner. Pizza is your friend.
  8. Trickery…when your kids wake up, tell them it is earlier than it really is and lay down on the couch with them. If you are lucky, they will stare blankly at Sesame Street while you catch a few more minutes of sleep.
  9. Don’t overwork yourself…give up all housework until you recover, most likely you are not going to remember why you are standing in front of the washing machine anyways.
  10. Humor…know when to laugh at yourself.

I am working hard at understanding all of this. While I think about it, I am going to go grab some chocolate and check my clocks again.

I so agree on that one, I had such a hard time this week waking up!
and I think chocolate makes everything better.

Chocolate is my go-to cure for everything. It might not always help, but is sure doesn’t hurt 😉

Yep… I’ve got it too!! I was so enjoying my mornings last week, even waking before the alarm went off. Now it’s tough again….

I have given up on trying to be coherent in the mornings. As long as the coffee is flowing and there is a cozy spot on the couch with the kids, I am good 😉

changed your clocks already? we do ours the last weekend of March

we used to change them later in the year, then a few years ago they pushed back the fall date to the beginning of November and moved the spring date up earlier in March.

That doesn’t surprise me. It is more common that most people realize 😉
