Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

I know the day is almost over, but I can’t let the day go without slowing down for long enough to brush all of stress and nonsense of the week away and share some Thankful Thoughts.

Wing Nut had an appointment with his GI specialist today. Which was long overdue. I was a bit frustrated that he mentioned that we could do endoscopy to determine if he has Celiac. Wing Nut has had the blood work that shows that he is a carrier of the Celiac gene. After I called last year to schedule endoscopy, the woman who answered the phone told me that the bloodwork showed that he doesn’t have Celiac and that a scope is not necessary. So we went in for another appointment and decided again not to do a scope.

Today’s appointment came about after chatting on twitter with Mama Be Good and failure to thrive. She suggested that Periactin might help as it helped her son. So after a few phone calls we got the appointment and we have a script for periactin, which is an appetite stimulant. We are going to try it for 3 months and see if we can get a some weight on this boy. Right now his 7 year old brother weights about the same as him, or more, and he is still a tiny little guy.

Today I am Thankful that we have hope that Wing Nut will gain weight and that we are one step closer to whatever it is we are looking for.

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we still have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

So what are you Thankful for today?
