Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

Today I am Thankful for sunny skies, baby grass and an evening watching E Nut play baseball.

My Little Owee turned 3 the other day and I am Thankful for every day I get to spend with him, terrifying 3’s temper tantrums and all!

Much to my surprise, many of the seeds I planted on Monday have already sprouted and many of them are reaching for the sky…or at least unfolding and heading to the top of the little greenhouse they call home. I am Thankful for new beginnings as my little seeds transition into tasty treats!

I am Thankful for my Blackberry and unlimited texting that enables me to catch up with dear friends. Life is surely too busy to sit and chat on the phone these days, but texting on the go rocks and texting with dear friends while on the go rocks my world. If you have been meaning to catch up with someone, but can’t find the time, send the a quick text to say hello and let them know you are thinking of them. Do.It.Now. You will be Thankful you did. And so will they. Much Love to you Alycia!

I am Thankful for making it through Wee Nut’s birthday without having a nervous breakdown, and even more Thankful for the new found strength to make it through May 4th without curling up in a ball and getting lost in my own tortured memories. I can still see his blue little hand laying before me in his little bassinet at the hospital like it happened this morning, but through my own resolve, I can see that hand when I close my eyes and see  his smiling face in front of me when I open them. And together they make Owain the most amazing little hero I know! I am so Thankful for Owain’s amazing team of cardiologists and everything they have done to save his life!

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we still have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

What are you Thankful for today?

I know it is kind of late, but I will make this a blog carnival tonight, just because I made it my goal to do so today. I told myself I would start it back up again, all I can do now is start the carnival, I invite y’all to join in.

Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:

1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The Nut House and/or ourhappynuthouse.com so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post below

Not everyone has a blog, so:

2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.

3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, a story, a vlog, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.

Have fun!

This week I am thankful for Andrew’s wonderful preschool teachers. They have taught him so much in the last year. He can say the alphabet and give a word for each letter.

Also, today in the grocery store as Riley went into her 4th round of crying and screaming because she can’t walk around – I’m thankful that I learned she understands, “Riley, stop crying.” Very calm, but stern. Score one for Mommy! She stopped crying for the remainder of the trip!!!
