10 Things Tuesday

I had hopes and plans for this week. With 5 sick kids, none of it is getting done. As frustrating as it is, I am OK with it.

The 3 big kids have had high fevers since last night and when I thought Owee’s had gone down, it came back. Honey Nut had the fever over the weekend and her fever has been gone since Sunday night. After taking Owain’s temp before bed, she asked for hers to be taken too. Looks like her fever is back too. This virus just won’t go away, very frustrating.

I spent the past 2 days running back and forth between the children. When I got done with one, another one was in need of water, snacks, pillow fluffing, head rubbing and forehead kissing.

While I was doing all of that, many things did not get done, there are at least 10 of them, probably more.

10 Things I did not get done today…

  1. Laundry
  2. Dishes
  3. Brushing my teeth
  4. Homeschool
  5. Picking up toys
  6. Cleaning the bathroom
  7. Mowing the Lawn
  8. No Breakfast
  9. No Lunch Haha! wait, I did have lunch, it was a salad. *losing it!
  10. No Dinner And I am eating dinner now!! Woot!

I thought about a quick clean up around the house, especially the bathroom…3 big kids who are sick have really bad aim…but I am going to grab a bite to eat and take a quick nap. My alarm is set for 1:45 to check temps and provide tylenol if needed, which I am guessing it will be. Hopefully after that they will sleep through the rest of the night. I have pretty much been up since 5am yesterday and taking care of sick kids with no help is difficult. I think I am going to actually go Crazy if I don’t pass out soon.

You are WONDERWOMAN!!! Mowing the lawn?!! It can wait!!! Of course, I don’t mow, my husband does. My bathroom needs cleaning also, but I don’t do that on a set day, or often enough. I know, gross. But it would bother me if I didn’t get to brush my teeth right away in the morning! I hope everyone feels better soon! And take it easy yourself. You are a great mom! Some of those things can wait a day. 🙂

Thanks Amber. I don’t mind mowing the lawn, my husband hates our mower anyways. We have such a small yard with little storage space, so I won’t buy a gas powered mower. We have a battery mower and he doesn’t think it is powerful enough. Sometimes I think he complains just so I will mow the lawn and not have to listen to him complain, lol. The evening I went into labor with my baby girl, I mowed the lawn in the morning, hoping it would help move things along, and I didn’t want to be in the hospital while my husband was home mowing and calling our mower names.

Everyone is doing much better today and homeschool is moving right along. My bathroom still stinks, but at least I brushed my teeth this morning 🙂

One thing you did today that matters more than your list of the 8 or so that didn’t: loved and cared for your children more than anyone else could! Great job, mama! 🙂 (Still, I’m glad you were able to eat!)

    Confident in Christ,
    Susan M.
