It is Hard to Believe…

I just realized that today is Friday. That means that we are only 1 week away from Owain’s surgery. Today though, we had a great time at the park, such a great time that I didn’t even think about what day it was once. I took hundreds of photos, way too many to try to pick more than one out at this point.

We are having a wonderful time not thinking about Owain’s surgery.

Hi, I happened to come across your blog and wanted to let you know that we’ll be keeping Owain in our thoughts and prayers on Friday. My son Ethan will be having his fontan next Tuesday at CHOP. He’s also a double inlet single ventricle baby. Wishing you all the best!!

    Hello Nut House!

I just came upon your blog and am so glad I did.

When we first found out that our baby girl had a severe congenital heart defect, the pediatric cardiologist instructed me NOT to google heart defects. I know he was just trying to protect me from worrying, but that advice really wasn’t the best.

Ten months after baby Gracie’s birth, I AM JUST NOW FINDING THE HEART COMMUNITY THAT EXISTS OUT HERE. Thanks for your blog and for the hope that you give!

      Hi Annie!

It took me awhile to find the Heart Community as well, which is so strange knowing now how many of us there are. I think that UVa told us the same thing, not to go look at Dr Google, which I didn’t do while he was in the hospital and I think that was a good choice for us. Everything was already so overwhelming, but I wish I would have found the Heart Community sooner than I did. I felt very alone for close to a year.

I am sure we will meet up sometime and I look forward to it!
