10 Things Tuesday

I haven’t done 10 Things Tuesday in a long time. A VERY long time. There are many things that I haven’t done in a long time. I have been building momentum over the past few months and feeling like I am pulling myself up off the ground.

I always had fun doing 10 Things Tuesday, so I think we need to get this going on again. I have no real topic today, but I feel like I need to jump into things again to find my voice again. This week’s no topic 10 Things Tuesday topic will be 10 Completely Random and Possibly Uninteresting Things from The Nut House.

  1. E Nut has started taking riding lessons. He started at a new farm this afternoon and loves it! Last month he got thrown off of a cranky horse a few times and I was worried he might not want to go back. I am so glad he keeps getting back in the saddle.
  2. Yesterday, I got the worlds worst ever paper cut under my fingernail on my right index finger. This makes things extremely hard. I didn’t realize how incredibly important the index finger is when it comes to typing and texting. And it throbs non stop.
  3. My kids, especially my oldest Wing Nut have been learning Extreme Couponing with me. I have found that this is a great homeschool lesson centered around Math and Budgeting.
  4. I recently gave up late afternoon coffee. This new policy has been in effect for 2.5 hours and I am already rethinking this decision.
  5. Last week I started reading the Twilight books again for the 3rd time. Its like watching your favorite mindless movie over and over, it is such a simple, escape from everyday stress and chaos that it is hard not to read.
  6. For the first time in 11 years of living in Virginia, I have not spent the winter grumbling about not enough snow. We have been so busy this year and I am glad that I don’t have to deal with the snow. I may change my mind after we get a real snow storm though.
  7. For the first time in 3.5 years I do not regret our decision to not have any more children. I believe this is largely due to my 3.5 year old daughter who feels that potty training is just for boys and while she keeps telling me that she will potty train tomorrow, tomorrow never comes. I hate diapers. A lot.
  8. I have been making fruit juice popsicles. For myself. And eating them after the kids go to bed. While watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  9. I recently reorganized my studio space for beading. The hardest thing to clean was a table I used for my desk. I took the table out and no longer have a desk. This is one of the best things I have ever done for keeping my home organized! There is no where to put all of those random things that always piled up, so now they get put away. Seriously awesome.
  10. I am terrified of those black and brown blotchy crickets that always look like they are missing at least 1 leg. They come into the house when we get a lot of rain and every time they jump out and scare me half to death. I think they send a few in to torment me while the other little crickets are outside laughing.

Paper cuts are awful. I always love when I find out I have one when I’m cooking and something like lemon juice hits it — and under a fingernail? Can’t even put a band-aid on it. Ugh.

I hope your daughter decided tomorrow comes soon — Can NOT imagine my 3.5 year-old in diapers. When he goes, it is NOT pretty.

It is not pretty when she goes either, there is always tomorrow.

I had to wrap 3 band-aids around my finger and when ever I typed I hit at least 2 keys. It doesn’t throb any more, but it still hurts when I bump it. And lemon juice in a paper cut is the WORST!
