I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

Heart Baby

Mended Little Hearts got a tour of the C’ville airport and the news was there to cover it! Very cool :)

Yesterday Mended Little Hearts of Charlottesville got a tour of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. We got a tour of the behind the scenes activity. They took us behind the check in desk and we got to see where the luggage goes. Then they took us out back and the kids got to watch the airplanes...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

My E Nut has been home sick all week. Yesterday we had him at the doctors and he has strep. He has only had a red, sore throat and has not really been acting too sick and has not had a fever, but I kept him home anyways. This week I am realizing that...

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

This week has been a rough one at the Nut House. Four out of 5 of my little Nuts were sick on Tuesday, 2 of them that normally go to school, stayed home. Wee Nut had a runny nose all morning and seemed fine until he woke up from from his afternoon nap wheezing,...

A Year Ago Today My Wee Nut Had His Second Heart Surgery

A few days later I got this picture of him, after everything, sleeping peacefully.

I didn’t realize until last night when I was think about his surgery last year, that the anniversary of his second surgery was another contributing factor in my feeling down. I think it affected me differently because it was something we had spend months planning. It was so much different than when Owee was...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

It has been a quiet week at the Nut House. Very little sleep and lots of chaos, but overall it has been a good week. I am Thankful that my Wing Nut gained 1 whole pound and has pulled out of the 0 percentile and is now at 2% for his weight! This is...

Vote to See Congenital Heart Defects on The Doctors

I would love to see an episode of The Doctors devoted to Congenital Heart Defects. I have also added a link to my sidebar to vote, but I thought I would add a quick post as well. Congenital Heart Defects affect about 1 in 100 babies, making it the most common birth defect. This...

Today Owain is 15 Months Old, Comparing Him & Newborn Ariel

My Hero!

It is hard to believe that I just had a baby less than 2 weeks ago and today my little Owain is just 15 months old. It is a bit strange to have two babies around the house so close together. When the other kids were born, their siblings were much older and while...

Good News is so Good, Some News is Not so Good Though

Yesterday was a good day. A long one, but still a good one. First bit of good news is that my 8 year old Wing-Nut is finally done (for the moment anyways) getting all of his cavities filled! Poor little guy has huge teeth, packed into a tiny little mouth and has such a...

Chickenpox at The Nut House

It is interesting how the littlest things can change everything about my day, and even my week. Yesterday afternoon I noticed that Little Nut Nut had a chicken pox blister on his neck. I watched it for a few hours to make sure, but by the time I figured out it was actually chickenpox...

Owain’s Heart Defect Story Copied From My Livejournal Account

I have spent too much time trying to get the different import programs to work. I am supposed to be able to import my livejournal posts over here, along with all of the comments. I have tried a few different programs several times, and for the life of me I can’t figure out what...

Owain is Doing Great & Recovering Quickly!

Owain is recovering very well & sooo very quickly! I am amazed at how much quicker this recovery is. I did mistake his crankiness with a double ear infection for crankiness because of his surgery…which left me with bad mommy feelings, but I know I can’t know everything, so I am working on forgiving...

Owain is recovering slowly

Owain is still in the PICU. We were hoping that he would be out on the floor by now, but his lungs and a high fever have been keeping him here. His fever has been dropping most of this evening. He has some fluid both in his lungs and around his lungs, so his...

Owain came out of surgery around noon today,Yippie! He is doing well. He still hasn’t woken up yet & is still on a bit of pain killers. We are waiting for his pain meds to wear off and most likely they will be able to take him off the respirator early this evening. He...

Owain’s Prayer Quilt

Owain watching Olympics

Owain last week, 3 months old!

Owain is OK for now

Well his O2 levels are still low, but they did spend a bit more time in the lower 70s today at the hospital. They did an EKG and an Echo and everything looks good. His usual cardiologist is out this week & he saw another Dr, so I don’t really have any answers. She...
