I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 7. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. We like to find old things and make them new, so we bought a house that was in desperate need of repair, then we doubled the sized of it. This project is well over 9 years long, with still plenty to do, and has pushed my fear of heights over the limit too many times. The best part is I am still alive to talk about it! Some of my passions are my children, and making Jewelry. When life gets stressful (often times stress induced by children!) opening up my bins of beads to create something beautiful that will soon bring joy to someone else is all I need. That and chocolate. I am just hanging on by the seat of my pants. Stick around & let's get to know each other.

How Owee is Doing, Update From The Hospital

Really, I am too tired to actually post anything, but respiratory will be here soon for his breathing treatments and I know that there is no chance of Owain or I sleeping through that. I am just aimlessly wandering around the internet waiting for them to come and can’t really find anything to hold...

Back in the Hospital with Owain

Tucked in for the night. I hope he sleeps well and gets better quickly!

Owee is back in the hospital. It doesn’t look as bad as last  month when we were here. After running off to the doctor when he woke up from a nap with a 104.7 fever, he was having a really hard time breathing so we admitted him. One thing we know for sure is...

I was strong for my son when I had to be, now we are home, the house is quiet, Owain is sleeping and when I sat down to share this I started to cry. I was so scared when he wasn’t getting better, when he wouldn’t even talk to me, I thought “what if...

Quick Ride in a Wagon and Trip to Pediatric Playroom

Quick Ride in a Wagon and Trip to Pediatric Playroom

I thought Owain could use a change of scenery, I know I needed it anyways! So we hunted down a portable oxygen tank, grabbed a wagon and headed out to the playroom. As soon as we got set up, respiratory therapy came in for his albuteral treatment. He fell asleep sitting up in the...

Back to the ER and Now Admitted to the Pediatric Floor

Yesterday Owain was understandably cranky and tired. We spent the day on the couch trying to recover from the long night in the emergency room. He got up several times and slowly walked around or sat quietly on the floor playing trains with his brothers. He was still having a hard time breathing and...

CHD Awareness Week Proclamation February 7th to 14th 2010

It took awhile, and I requested a proclamation and got a Certificate of Recognition, but I don’t think that really matters at this point.
