I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

Laundry Laundry Laundry Laundry LAUNDRY!

I swear, our family of 7 produces enough laundry for 20 people. I can’t believe how much laundry we have. I do 2-4 loads of laundry a day. Every. Day. Not including cloth diapers, and washing a load of diapers is so much easier than running to the store to get a case of...

Postpartum Depression: Mama’s Losin’ It

When I think of Postpartum Depression, I always think of moms who can’t bring themselves to care for their children, who are just not happy after the birth of their baby. I never thought of it as general confusion or crankiness. And I never thought after 4 kids that I would have it with...

Organizing My Week: 5 Kids, Homeschooling, Public Schooling & Preschool

At this time, I have one public school Nut, one Homeschooled Nut and one Little Nut Nut in Preschool. They all have different schedules, which can get hectic and overwhelming. They all start their day the same way though, bright and early, first thing in the morning. When I first came up with this...

Perpetually late

Sometimes I wonder if the receptionist at my kids Dr actually enters out appointments in 15 minutes later than she tells me. She would be smart if she did. It doesn’t matter where we go, or how hard I try I am always late. There is always something that comes up. One of the...

Good-bye Student Loan!

I am celebrating today, Yippee! And by celebrating, I mean, I smiled and gave my son a high-5, and now I am walking around feeling good about getting rid of this bill. William’s student loan is paid in full! It’s a good feeling to get to the end something like this. One less bill...

We interrupt this regularly scheduled life to bring you a technological breakdown

Arg! It seems that at least once a year, sometimes more I have to stop my life to reformat my computer. Not something I look forward to. I am pretty good about keeping my computer cleaned up, I scan it with several different programs designed to find spyware, malware, viruses, trojans, bla, bla, yadda, yadda, and all...

Wing Nut is in deep thought…”What else can I add?”

Have you ever had one of those moments where you look at what your kids at doing and think “AAAHhhhhhhh”!? Followed by “AAAAHHHHhhhhhhhhh”! And then you realize that everything in fact is fine. Wing Nut created this massive toy sculpture a few years ago, and when I first saw that he was sitting on...

As I Was…

As I was enjoying my very well organized morning, I realized that something was terribly wrong. It only took me a fraction of a second to figure out what it was, but in that moment my feelings of accomplishment and pride were shattered and I was suddenly racing around my house with feelings of...

Little Nut Nut’s First Day of Preschool

Avery's First Day of Preschool 1

Little Nut Nut started preschool today. He is so very proud of himself. We had a meeting with his teacher in his classroom last week and I had to drag him out of there kicking and screaming…explaining to his teacher that he in fact did not normally act like this, and hoping that she...

Ninja Turtle Meets Avatar

The three oldest Nuts love to do face paintings, I suppose I should actually know who is who, but at this point all I know is there is one Ninja Turtle with two characters from Avatar, I think one Air Bender and one Water Bender, but I could be way off with this.

Today Owain is 15 Months Old, Comparing Him & Newborn Ariel

My Hero!

It is hard to believe that I just had a baby less than 2 weeks ago and today my little Owain is just 15 months old. It is a bit strange to have two babies around the house so close together. When the other kids were born, their siblings were much older and while...

Chickenpox at The Nut House

It is interesting how the littlest things can change everything about my day, and even my week. Yesterday afternoon I noticed that Little Nut Nut had a chicken pox blister on his neck. I watched it for a few hours to make sure, but by the time I figured out it was actually chickenpox...
