I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

My Little Iron Man

We went to the UVA Heart Center Picnic a few weekends ago. We thought about going last year, but it was the weekend after Owain was released from the hospital and we were so happy to have him home we had no desire to go back after everything we had be through. It was...

Speak. Confirm. Repeat. and do it again.

There is one ongoing conversation that has been repeated so many times since summer vacation started that it qualifies for a little bit of crazy. E Nut, my 5 year old came home from the last day of school with a squirt gun…just one. We have one squirt gun and at least 2 other...

Choosing to Potty Train

I have been asking my 2 yr old Little Nut Nut if he wants to use the potty for months, probably almost a year and he has had very little interest. I thought that maybe he was uncomfortable with the padded potty seat ring to set on the big potty, so we pulled the...

Song for a Fifth Child

Some one sent this poem to me a few months back and I just remembered it. I think it is very fitting for my family. It was first published (I think) in the Ladies Home Journal in 1958. Enjoy! Song for a Fifth Child Mother, oh mother, come shake out your cloth! Empty the...

Taking Owain to UVA today

So if you didn’t see yesterdays post, read that first and then come back up here to read this one. His O2 sats are still low again this morning and his pediatric cardiologists want to see him this afternoon. They are in the 61 to 72 range, mostly in the mid 60s. Wing Nut...

Such a happy little guy! We are so blessed!

He actually came home last Thursday May 29th! We have been getting settled, going to different Dr visits and trying to get some rest. The kids are so excited to have him home. It was very strange for them to be with out their parents for so long. They were just as disappointed every...

Still waiting for Owain to come home…

I love this little guy so much!

Owain is still at UVA & we are starting to feel like he will never come home. I have been leaving as early as I can after getting the kids off to school & staying until 7pm or later so that I can nurse him. He has had some really good days with his...
