Thankful Thursday Spring Summer 2011

It has been a quiet week at the Nut House. Very little sleep and lots of chaos, but overall it has been a good week. I am Thankful that my Wing Nut gained 1 whole pound and has pulled out of the 0 percentile and is now at 2% for his weight! This is...Keep Reading Here »

I am celebrating today, Yippee! And by celebrating, I mean, I smiled and gave my son a high-5, and now I am walking around feeling good about getting rid of this bill. William’s student loan is paid in full! It’s a good feeling to get to the end something like this. One less bill...Keep Reading Here »

This is the post that I was working on weeks ago when I was in labor. I started it in the morning and then I floated through the rest of the day(early labor had me in a daze). Then when I was trying to keep busy during labor I tried to finish it. I...Keep Reading Here »

Chickenpox at The Nut House

July 7, 2009
By

It is interesting how the littlest things can change everything about my day, and even my week. Yesterday afternoon I noticed that Little Nut Nut had a chicken pox blister on his neck. I watched it for a few hours to make sure, but by the time I figured out it was actually chickenpox...Keep Reading Here »

Pregnancy Induced Forgetfulness

July 6, 2009

As my due date gets closer, less than 3 weeks away I am finding it harder and harder to concentrate. We are trying to get everything in order, and in doing so lots of things are getting overlooked. My brain is overflowing with way too many things not to write them down….but I can...Keep Reading Here »

Only one more month…

June 25, 2009
By

I can’t believe that we only have 1 more month until the 5th Little Nut joins The Nut House! I guess it is getting to the point where I should already be packed and have a freezer full of ready made dinners…but I don’t. It would also be nice if we had somewhere to...Keep Reading Here »

Choosing to Potty Train

May 28, 2009
By

I have been asking my 2 yr old Little Nut Nut if he wants to use the potty for months, probably almost a year and he has had very little interest. I thought that maybe he was uncomfortable with the padded potty seat ring to set on the big potty, so we pulled the...Keep Reading Here »

Welcome to The Nut House

My motto is “There is nothing wrong with a little crazy in your day” and I completely believe it. I think if I didn’t allow just a bit of crazy into my daily routine I would go completely bonkers. The Nut House consists of my myself, my husband William, my 4 boys ages 7,...Keep Reading Here »

Owain is home!!!

June 4, 2008
By
Such a happy little guy! We are so blessed!

He actually came home last Thursday May 29th! We have been getting settled, going to different Dr visits and trying to get some rest. The kids are so excited to have him home. It was very strange for them to be with out their parents for so long. They were just as disappointed every...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
