Thanksgiving Dinner with Grandma 2010

Yesterday we went over to Grandma Nut’s house for another Thanksgiving dinner. E Nut tried out his cousin’s skate board and finally figured it out. He was proud of his scrapes and bumps. You know, because he is doing things like loosing teeth and learning to ride a skateboard. Little Nut Nut needed to...Keep Reading Here »

When is a Christmas Tree, Not a Christmas Tree?

November 27, 2010

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is the day that we usually go out and get our Christmas Tree. It is a budding tradition that we started a few years ago when we realized that traveling hours with many young children was not the best idea in December. When we decided that were were staying home,...Keep Reading Here »

Black Friday Online Shopping, Hunting & Venison in the Freezer

November 26, 2010

I am not one to head out first thing in the morning to wrestle with strangers trying to get the best deal on Christmas presents. I like to sleep in, eat left over dessert for breakfast and sit around all morning long watching Christmas movies with the children. And that is exactly what I...Keep Reading Here »

Thankful Thursday Spring Summer 2011

Happy Thanksgiving! I was planning on doing a week long Thanksgiving edition to Thankful Thursdays but  ended up getting sick and didn’t move from the couch for days unless it was urgent. I am Thankful that I am feeling well enough to make dinner tomorrow and share my Thankful Thoughts, and even more Thankful...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
