Hershey Park Pre Fontan Mini Scrambler

Looking back at this past summer, I remember the both the fear of Owain’s upcoming surgery and the excitement of our pre-surgery vacation to Hershey Park. I could do without the fear, but I sure could use a vacation from life right now.Keep Reading Here »

Colonial Williamsburg Homeschool Home Education Experience Three big brothers in the garden 1

When we went to Colonial Williamsburg in last month for the Homeschool Experience, I thought I would be able to get some good photos of the kids. They were looking at some old school style tools from “back then” and I thought that was the perfect time.Keep Reading Here »

I Feel Like a Kid in a Candy, Um, Computer Store!

April 7, 2010

You know those days that start out all sunshine and roses. Days where everything is going along nicely and the kids are on spring break. This week I don’t have to do anything except some major organizing and finally doing our taxes. For many people I can imagine that doing taxes is not the...Keep Reading Here »

Thankful Thursday Spring Summer 2011

We are all saying it “New Year Eve already? Where did the year go?!?” I am right there with you, this year has gone so fast. So many things have happened here at the Nut House, and while we have had some tough times, the good times are always here to hold us up...Keep Reading Here »

Holy Ton of Snow Batman!! This is a Snow Storm the Kids will Never Forget!

December 20, 2009

We got hit with the biggest snow storm in over a decade and I am pretty sure that this is the most amount of snow on record for the month of December Evah! I have been complaining about the lack of snow in the Shenandoah Valley for the past 7 years…and my husband has...Keep Reading Here »

Only one more month…

June 25, 2009
By

I can’t believe that we only have 1 more month until the 5th Little Nut joins The Nut House! I guess it is getting to the point where I should already be packed and have a freezer full of ready made dinners…but I don’t. It would also be nice if we had somewhere to...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
