Time. Life. Money. No matter how hard we try, it all just Slips Away. You know the saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”? I guess that is me. Well not entirely.Keep Reading Here »

Wednesday is WeighDay for Wing Nut. He as been doing well for the most part. He gained a lot of weight at the very start, I am guessing that it is because he was so far underweight. A few weeks ago we were disappointed when he didn’t gain any weight. And I am kind...Keep Reading Here »

StartWrite Handwriting Worksheets Homeschool Lessons 1

It is true what they say about boys and terrible handwriting, my boys penmanship is atrocious! I have learned to decipher my 7 year old E Nut’s writing, and that was no small task, but it has been driving me crazy that half the time I have no idea what his homework says. He...Keep Reading Here »

101 Reasons Why I Homeschool: Schools That Tell Us What to Feed Our Children {6}

April 12, 2011

Last night Mr Wall Nut mentioned an article that he saw about a school in Chicago that has banned all food brought from home and is forcing school provided lunches on students. They do make exceptions for food allergies, I will give them that, but to presume that all parents make bad food choices...Keep Reading Here »

Out of the Mouths of Babes

February 16, 2011

Last week I mentioned that my sweet baby girl is fond of the F-bomb. Would it be wrong to say that I giggle when she does it? It is not a word that she is going to hear around our house or anywhere we go. Last week I didn’t think that it had any...Keep Reading Here »

Colonial Williamsburg Cannon Fire

In September we went to Colonial Williamsburg for the Homeschool experience they have. 101 Reasons Why I Homeschool: ADHD? {3}

November 5, 2010

The question mark after the diagnosis of ADHD is really how I feel about my oldest son Wing Nut’s situation. When it comes down it, I am really not sure I believe that is what he has. He has many of the classic symptoms of ADHD, but on top of that he has also...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
