Why Yes, They Are Dead. Are You Surprised?

June 8, 2011
By

A few months ago, E Nut pulled some already sprouted apple seeds from his apple and insisted that we plant them. It was something that I talked my way out of for years, but there was no way I could say no to him when they were already starting to sprout.Keep Reading Here »

A New Skirt For Honey Nut Sewn From Owee’s Jeans

June 3, 2011
By
Finally standing still and facing me for a good photo.

Since I got my sewing machine last month I haven’t really done much with it. Mostly repairing clothing and blankets and making cloth napkins. Nothing too exciting. Nothing to complicated. I needed a bit of time to get to know my new machine and get back into sewing on a machine again. I used...Keep Reading Here »

May 31, 2011

This is the first freelance article I wrote about 5 years ago, back when the Yahoo! Contributor Network was Associated Content and before I started writing for eHow. This was also before I started blogging full time and only wrote a few posts a year randomly. Today is the last day that eHow will...Keep Reading Here »

Our 6 Year Anniversary

May 28, 2011
By

After the long week I had, finishing it off with our 6 Year Anniversary was perfect. We spent a lazy afternoon installing handles on the kitchen cupboards. We bought the handles the fall after we got married when we remodeled the kitchen. It has been on our list of things to do for almost...Keep Reading Here »

Love Hate Super Annoyed

May 27, 2011
By

This week has been a hard one for me. The past few days I have had a hard time holding on to happiness. I have found myself thinking in terms of Hate a lot this week. Like, “I hate it when my kids pee all over the floor”, when I normally think, “this is...Keep Reading Here »

May 4, 2011
By

Wednesday is WeighDay for Wing Nut. He as been doing well for the most part. He gained a lot of weight at the very start, I am guessing that it is because he was so far underweight. A few weeks ago we were disappointed when he didn’t gain any weight. And I am kind...Keep Reading Here »

April 25, 2011

Thankful Thursday Spring Summer 2011

Happy Thursday Y’all! After last week’s storm, this beautiful week was just what we needed. Warm weather, open windows, a dry basement and hot water. We are so thankful for all of those things! Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
