Things are moving along quickly at The Nut House! I am starting to feel like my old self again. And by old, I don’t mean that I am starting to feel like my old tired 40 year old body, I mean I am starting to feel like the young old self where I run...Keep Reading Here »

October 19, 2010

Since we moved the kids into our addition over the summer, The Nut House has been in a constant state of organization and reorganization. It felt a lot like we were moving to another home. Everything in 1 bedroom got divided up into 3 new bedrooms and many things from around the house got...Keep Reading Here »

Homeschool Room Remodel Repairing cracks in the wall painting walls trim baseboard chalk board paint 10

Last year I just taught my oldest Nut and it wasn’t that big of a deal to have just 1 child’s curriculums to organize. I had a small space that I created in my office, but it still ended up all over the house. This year I took 3 shelf units from our bedroom...Keep Reading Here »

It took us 5 years to finally finish caulking around the windows, fill in the nail holes and paint the trim and the baseboards. The Classroom was Wing Nut’s bedroom for 7 years, E Nut’s bedroom for over 5 years and Little Nut Nut’s room for 2 years. Have you ever noticed that sometimes...Keep Reading Here »

Until the middle of June, our three oldest Nuts shared a bedroom. It was a tight fit, with a set of bunk beds and another bed, bookshelf dressers and all the toys of the three Nuts packed in. After they moved out we started repairing the damage caused by 3 boys and the way...Keep Reading Here »

My Five Dollar Make-Over

July 14, 2010

Actually it was less than 5 bucks, the henna was four something, I don’t remember exactly. I have seen some Henna for much cheaper, but I am brand loyal to my Henna color. And I was ordering it online, and the last thing I wanted to do was try out a new brand and...Keep Reading Here »

I Made a Pink & Ruffled Hat for Baby Girl

March 15, 2010

I sat around with my kids this weekend and took a much need break. Saturday I parked my butt on the couch and finished She Nut’s hat that I started months ago and thought would be done for her for Christmas. This was the type of project I soon realized that I couldn’t just...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
