I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

Owain had his O2 check today, he is holding strong at 84, and has been there for the past 2 months. Way to go Owee! Wing Nut, Little Nut Nut, and Wee Nut all had the flu shots today, and the two older ones are walking around holding their arms like they just got...

As I Was…

As I was enjoying my very well organized morning, I realized that something was terribly wrong. It only took me a fraction of a second to figure out what it was, but in that moment my feelings of accomplishment and pride were shattered and I was suddenly racing around my house with feelings of...

Little Nut Nut’s First Day of Preschool

Little Nut Nut started preschool today. He is so very proud of himself. We had a meeting with his teacher in his classroom last week and I had to drag him out of there kicking and screaming…explaining to his teacher that he in fact did not normally act like this, and hoping that she...

Fun Friday Photos

The three oldest Nuts love to do face paintings, I suppose I should actually know who is who, but at this point all I know is there is one Ninja Turtle with two characters from Avatar, I think one Air Bender and one Water Bender, but I could be way off with this.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

This week has been a long & hectic one getting E Nut, my 1st grader back to public school and trying to get everything in order for Wing Nut, my 3rd grader to start homeschooling. This has been another one of those weeks when all I really want to do is grab a good...

Chickenpox at The Nut House

It is interesting how the littlest things can change everything about my day, and even my week. Yesterday afternoon I noticed that Little Nut Nut had a chicken pox blister on his neck. I watched it for a few hours to make sure, but by the time I figured out it was actually chickenpox...

Only one more month…

I can’t believe that we only have 1 more month until the 5th Little Nut joins The Nut House! I guess it is getting to the point where I should already be packed and have a freezer full of ready made dinners…but I don’t. It would also be nice if we had somewhere to...

UVA Heart Center Reunion Picnic & Mended Little Hearts

We went to the UVA Heart Center Picnic a few weekends ago. We thought about going last year, but it was the weekend after Owain was released from the hospital and we were so happy to have him home we had no desire to go back after everything we had be through. It was...

Speak. Confirm. Repeat. and do it again.

There is one ongoing conversation that has been repeated so many times since summer vacation started that it qualifies for a little bit of crazy. E Nut, my 5 year old came home from the last day of school with a squirt gun…just one. We have one squirt gun and at least 2 other...

Choosing to Potty Train

I have been asking my 2 yr old Little Nut Nut if he wants to use the potty for months, probably almost a year and he has had very little interest. I thought that maybe he was uncomfortable with the padded potty seat ring to set on the big potty, so we pulled the...

Schools almost over!

Yippie! Just over a week left and the kiddies are done for the year! I have to say that so far the school year has been about 3 weeks too long already. We are all just barely hanging on. As the days get longer, the kids are having a harder time getting to sleep...

Moving forward with Owain’s next surgery

I think I feel OK about this. I knew it was coming so I have been trying to prepare myself. Of course I am sad, I am worried, I am scared, but I am OK with it. It has to be done. At least I am TRYING to be OK with this. We had...
