I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

A Post About Nothing. Or Is It?

Well it is a little bit about something. I haven’t figured that out yet. My blog is sad and lonely. And neglected. And my brain is mush. But I can’t stand not posting anything. Last week firefox crashed on me. It took me since then to find my dashboard so I can login. Now...

A New Skirt For Honey Nut Sewn From Owee’s Jeans

Finally standing still and facing me for a good photo.

Since I got my sewing machine last month I haven’t really done much with it. Mostly repairing clothing and blankets and making cloth napkins. Nothing too exciting. Nothing to complicated. I needed a bit of time to get to know my new machine and get back into sewing on a machine again. I used...

Our 6 Year Anniversary

After the long week I had, finishing it off with our 6 Year Anniversary was perfect. We spent a lazy afternoon installing handles on the kitchen cupboards. We bought the handles the fall after we got married when we remodeled the kitchen. It has been on our list of things to do for almost...

Backyard Makeover

Before the addition this garden was twice as long. We had to move it after the addition was done, the house blocked the sun.

When we started our addition 3 years ago, we had a fairly nice backyard. Nothing too special. We had a used swing set, a small garden space for veggies along with a few other small gardens and a nice green lawn. A couple of days before Owain was born we broke ground and had...

Kitchen Remodel 5

I have been organizing lots of things in my life lately. It is my way of getting ready for Owain’s surgery. I have been working on finishing up projects that I started, organizing, unpacking boxes that have now been packed away for close to 3 years, going through photos, both older film developed ones...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

Happy Thursday Y’all! After last week’s storm, this beautiful week was just what we needed. Warm weather, open windows, a dry basement and hot water. We are so thankful for all of those things! Tonight we managed to get the kids out the door after dinner for an evening walk, something that we haven’t...

Pretty Good OK for a Monday

You know it figures that we get the furnace dried out and lit and it was so nice overnight that we didn’t even need it last night. Today was beautiful, the windows were open and it filled my house with the damp muddy smell of spring. It think it is going to be a...

A Smile and a Giggle

I don’t remember how this smile happened, but Mr Wall Nut got a photo of it on his phone. When ever I am having a bad day he sends me this photo. It is really hard to continue to have a bad day after opening up a message with this in it. I think...

New Lighting in the Addition!

We opened up the addition last year in June. It wasn’t done, but it was done enough to move in. The kids had their rooms painted, but no base boards, the light fixtures were the cheap utility lights that are meant for the attic or basement. The closets were not finished, with no doors...

Random Thoughts

Do you ever get that feeling that if you slow down and try to relax for too long that some sort of sickness will creep in, just when you let your guard down? That has happened to me twice in the past 2 weeks. The first time happened the day my parents went home...

Home Addition Starting the Framing 4

Within a few weeks of Wee Nut coming home from the hospital, we started to get to work on the addition.  There were mounds of dirt from the excavator and gravel all over the back yard and the kids were calling it their Indiana Jones Pit. They had a great time climbing all over...

It’s Been One of Those Days…

Shesh, Monday sure came roaring in and totally kicked my butt today!  I really couldn’t even remember exactly how my day started if I tried, which I just did…but came up with nothing more that a feeling of bad memories I have blocked permanently. I do remember collapsing on the couch with a feeling...

Black Friday Online Shopping, Hunting & Venison in the Freezer

I am not one to head out first thing in the morning to wrestle with strangers trying to get the best deal on Christmas presents. I like to sleep in, eat left over dessert for breakfast and sit around all morning long watching Christmas movies with the children. And that is exactly what I...
