I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

A Poem From My Wing Nut

I am not sure if this poem has a title, I giggled so much I forgot to ask. I also didn’t ask him for permission to publish it in all of its entirety, so I hope he doesn’t come down on me and bust me for copyright infringement

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

Happy Thursday Y’all! My kids were in rare form today. It was the type of day that I could not have predicted if I were a psychic. My morning started while Wee Nut played quietly in his room, the big kids were in the class room making paper bag puppets and Little Nut Nut...

Yesterday I shared photos of Little Nut Nut with his winning entry for our homescchool Lego Competition that we had yesterday. I never did get photos of the 2 other entries from Wing Nut and E Nut, who also won by the way. The competition came about because of a trendy fad that has...

Mr Wall Nut took the 2 big kids on a Cub Scout camp out this weekend. E Nut got me up extra early today running around with excitement. Wing Nut enjoys his mornings much more like I do, late and lazy. Somehow we get woken up way to early by the early risers. I...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

Happy Thursday Y’all! I know the day is almost over, but I can’t let the day go without slowing down for long enough to brush all of stress and nonsense of the week away and share some Thankful Thoughts. Wing Nut had an appointment with his GI specialist today. Which was long over due....

The Nut House Family Portrait

The Nut House Family Portrait

And by family portrait, I mean all of the kids, I spend my time behind the camera. I took several hundred photos of the kids just before Christmas. Most of them were very much our family in their true form, odd faces, children running all over the place, crying, laughing, spinning, jumping, playing, forgetting...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

Happy Thursday Y’all! So I did something really stupid yesterday. I was in the middle of a phone call with the phone company, the kids kept coming in and asking me a million questions, even though the door was closed and I told them I was on the phone, leave me alone for a...

Sleeping Sleeping All the Children are Sleeping…

I asked Wing Nut to take care of the younger kids tonight while I took a shower. Usually there is all sorts of chaos and arguing while I try to get a few minutes to myself. This time he had all the kids playing a game that I have heard them play before, but...

Random Thoughts, Sick Kids, Mended Little Hearts

Ugh! I can’t believe there is still sickness going around our house! I think we are starting to get better, Owain is definitely much better than he was last night. His fever is way down and he is done throwing himself on the ground crying from discomfort. Tonight Honey Nut was the one who...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

Happy Thursday Y’all! I am getting nothing done this week…except for planting some apple seeds before the died…but aside from that I seem to be struggling to hold on to time. I have found that it feels better to give up than to fight to get anything done. I am Thankful for my ability...

Thankful Thursday at The Nut House

Happy Thursday Y’all! I hope I am not the only one feeling like this week is super crazy. I have been running around all week long feeling like I am constantly one step behind. Well, until today I was feeling more like I am several steps behind. Very much like that scene in Poltergeist,...

The Nut House Gets Flooded

I tried taking pictures, but that really doesn’t show the mess that my children created. The video doesn’t really do that great of a job either, but here it is anyways, lol. There are 2 videos because somehow I stopped recording in the middle of it. I was thinking that we were going to...

101 Reasons Why I Homeschool: ADHD? {3}

The question mark after the diagnosis of ADHD is really how I feel about my oldest son Wing Nut’s situation. When it comes down it, I am really not sure I believe that is what he has. He has many of the classic symptoms of ADHD, but on top of that he has also...
