I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

Random Thoughts from a Tired Mama

I have looked back over some of my posts from the past few days and they seem to be a bit rambly (if that is a word) and may or may not make any sense. Somehow I am am OK with that, lol. So in keeping up with tired rambling I need to share...

Quick Update on Owain’s Heart Cath with Decisions to be Made

It has been a long day. I didn’t sleep much, or well last night and not that my day is over I don’t have much energy left. Everything went great. We ended up going in much later than scheduled, which made for a long morning for Owain. We were scheduled for 9:30 and it...

Owain’s Heart Cath Monday May 16

I like to think that I have been doing a pretty good job holding myself together. Between his birthday on the 3rd and thinking about his first surgery 3 years ago, and his up coming Heart Cath tomorrow and surgery next month, I have had plenty to freak out over. I have really tried...

Backyard Makeover

When we started our addition 3 years ago, we had a fairly nice backyard. Nothing too special. We had a used swing set, a small garden space for veggies along with a few other small gardens and a nice green lawn. A couple of days before Owain was born we broke ground and had...

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Little Nut Nut is known for his non-stop talking. He can chat on and on about anything. All.Day.Long. There is a good amount of his ramblings that are way over my head and many times I have no idea what he is talking about. But he talks with such excitement, it is easy to...

He Almost Died. But He Didn’t.

Three years ago, today was Mother’s Day. The day started with a phone call to UVa to talk to Owain’s nurse to see how things went overnight, after getting off the phone with her I thought that while things were not really getting better, they weren’t getting worse. I spent some time with his...

The Babies Have Taken Over My Bed!

After Wee Nut and Honey Nut took a bath, they were following me around the house while we got ready for bed. I turned around to see Owee hanging over my bed pulling Honey Nut up. Those 2 know how to work together to get things done. Before I knew it, they were tucking...

Thinking of Baby Owee

Today I was thinking about Wee Nut’s first couple of days and weeks after he came home from the hospital after his first open heart surgery. Today is the anniversary of his failed cath procedure at 6 days old. Dr Limm was hoping that he could go in and put a stent in to...

Special Mother’s Day Parade from My Little Nuts

Every once in awhile, the kids managed to pull something out of their little brains that not only makes me smile and giggle, but also pushes back both dinner time and bed time. It’s like they know if they do something special for me that they can get away with anything. Kinda like the...
