And Owain had a clinic appointment with peds cardiology yesterday and there is no fluid building up since we have been home! *doing some serious amounts of cartwheels*Keep Reading Here »

Why Yes, They Are Dead. Are You Surprised?

June 8, 2011
By

A few months ago, E Nut pulled some already sprouted apple seeds from his apple and insisted that we plant them. It was something that I talked my way out of for years, but there was no way I could say no to him when they were already starting to sprout.Keep Reading Here »

May 21, 2011
By

I promised that I would share how I make my DIY upside-down tomato planter, so today I managed to get everything together and vlog about it. There are many different ways to make these, I have seen 5 gallon buckets, gallon milk jugs, heavy duty plastic bags and all sorts of random things like...Keep Reading Here »

May 18, 2011
By

I have looked back over some of my posts from the past few days and they seem to be a bit rambly (if that is a word) and may or may not make any sense. Somehow I am am OK with that, lol. So in keeping up with tired rambling I need to share...Keep Reading Here »

WeighDay for Wing Nut, Starting Our Veggie Seeds and Straw Bale Gardening

May 4, 2011
By

Wednesday is WeighDay for Wing Nut. He as been doing well for the most part. He gained a lot of weight at the very start, I am guessing that it is because he was so far underweight. A few weeks ago we were disappointed when he didn’t gain any weight. And I am kind...Keep Reading Here »

Take It On Tuesday

February 15, 2011
By

It wasn’t until yesterday, Valentines Day that I realized that I still have my Christmas tree up. Kinda hard to believe that I forgot that it was still standing there in the corner of the dinning room, but it is. It is especially hard to believe because I made of point of declaring that...Keep Reading Here »

Electrical Passed Inspection!

September 9, 2009

This is the post that I was working on weeks ago when I was in labor. I started it in the morning and then I floated through the rest of the day(early labor had me in a daze). Then when I was trying to keep busy during labor I tried to finish it. I...Keep Reading Here »

How does my garden grow?

August 25, 2009
By

I have been struggling this year to get my garden to grow. Between the freshly turned red clay that turned up in our garden when we started our addition and my little Ariel, my garden is suffering. It’s not a total loss though, hop over to to my Feeding the Nut House page to...Keep Reading Here »

Pregnancy Induced Forgetfulness

July 6, 2009
By

As my due date gets closer, less than 3 weeks away I am finding it harder and harder to concentrate. We are trying to get everything in order, and in doing so lots of things are getting overlooked. My brain is overflowing with way too many things not to write them down….but I can...Keep Reading Here »

Only one more month…

June 25, 2009
By

I can’t believe that we only have 1 more month until the 5th Little Nut joins The Nut House! I guess it is getting to the point where I should already be packed and have a freezer full of ready made dinners…but I don’t. It would also be nice if we had somewhere to...Keep Reading Here »

Choosing to Potty Train

May 28, 2009
By

I have been asking my 2 yr old Little Nut Nut if he wants to use the potty for months, probably almost a year and he has had very little interest. I thought that maybe he was uncomfortable with the padded potty seat ring to set on the big potty, so we pulled the...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
