Thankful Thursday Spring Summer 2011

Life can be crazy sometimes, so it is nice to take a minute to think about all the wonderful things we have and think about all the things we are Thankful for. You can also read about what prompted me to start Thankful Thursdays. I would love it if you would join me in...Keep Reading Here »

As I Was…

September 15, 2009
By

As I was enjoying my very well organized morning, I realized that something was terribly wrong. It only took me a fraction of a second to figure out what it was, but in that moment my feelings of accomplishment and pride were shattered and I was suddenly racing around my house with feelings of...Keep Reading Here »

Little Nut Nut’s First Day of Preschool

September 8, 2009
By

Little Nut Nut started preschool today. He is so very proud of himself. We had a meeting with his teacher in his classroom last week and I had to drag him out of there kicking and screaming…explaining to his teacher that he in fact did not normally act like this, and hoping that she...Keep Reading Here »

By

Can you believe it?! We have a little girl! I still can’t believe it. Her name is Ariel Margarete, she weighed 7 pounds and was 19 inches long at birth. She was born at 7:10am on July 21, 2009. Margarete is my mother’s middle name and was the name of my great-great-grandmother on her...Keep Reading Here »

Its Baby Time…Heading to the Hospital

July 21, 2009
By

Finally! I wonder if this little Pea-Nut will be a boy or a girl? I have been in labor since about 9 last night. I was hoping to wait until the office opened this morning to see how things have progressed, but the contractions are 5-8 minutes apart & about a minute long. With...Keep Reading Here »

Good News is so Good, Some News is Not so Good Though

July 14, 2009
By

Yesterday was a good day. A long one, but still a good one. First bit of good news is that my 8 year old Wing-Nut is finally done (for the moment anyways) getting all of his cavities filled! Poor little guy has huge teeth, packed into a tiny little mouth and has such a...Keep Reading Here »

Chickenpox at The Nut House

July 7, 2009
By

It is interesting how the littlest things can change everything about my day, and even my week. Yesterday afternoon I noticed that Little Nut Nut had a chicken pox blister on his neck. I watched it for a few hours to make sure, but by the time I figured out it was actually chickenpox...Keep Reading Here »

Only one more month…

June 25, 2009
By

I can’t believe that we only have 1 more month until the 5th Little Nut joins The Nut House! I guess it is getting to the point where I should already be packed and have a freezer full of ready made dinners…but I don’t. It would also be nice if we had somewhere to...Keep Reading Here »

Schools almost over!

May 27, 2009
By

Yippie! Just over a week left and the kiddies are done for the year! I have to say that so far the school year has been about 3 weeks too long already. We are all just barely hanging on. As the days get longer, the kids are having a harder time getting to sleep...Keep Reading Here »

Thank you for praying!

Praying for Owain

After his Fontan on June 24th he went home after 6 days! Now we are back in the hospital waiting for fluid to stop draining from around his right lung.

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut

Little Nut Nut is my 5 year old boy genius and totally freaks me out with the things he can do. What type of child learns to read at 3 years old?!? He is his Big Brothers shadow and wants to do what ever they do. He doesn't have any trouble letting everyone around here know what he thinks, has no inner voice and talks non-stop all day long. If he thinks it, he says it. He says things like "I love life" and "I am made of Awesome" and always makes me smile, even when I don't want to.

Wing Nut

E Nut

My Wing Nut, 10 years old, is my first born and is a Lego Fanatic. He talks in his sleep about "interesting number combinations" and insists that he is going to work for Lego when he grows up. From the moment he gets the current issue of Lego magazine in the mail, he anticipates the arrival of the next one. He has crazy mood swings, has recently been diagnosed with ADHD but I am not so sure that is correct. He is considered Failure to Thrive and I struggle everyday to get him to gain weight, he keeps getting taller, but not gaining any weight. I think if we can figure out why he his Failure to Thrive, his ADHD will go away.
