I am Not as Strong as I appear. I enjoy weakness from time to time. We are a homeschooling, special needs family of 6. My 4th son has a Congenital Heart defect, and my oldest has ADHD. I am a survivor of Adultery and mental abuse. I learned that you never really know someone until you are strong enough to stand up and walk away. I love and protect my children, with everything I have. My life might seem unbelievable, but I couldn't make this shit up if I tried! Stick around & let's get to know each other.

I was going through my memory card for my camera deleting photos and I came across theses photos of our Mended Little Hearts end of summer picnic from August. I love this park, it has a river that runs through it, a small trail that runs through the woods, a nice playground, a fishing...

Happy Halloween from The Nut House Trick or Treat but mostly playing in the yard 2

We took a quick trip up and down our block and spent some time playing in the front yard. The kids had a great time even though we didn’t spend 2 hours running through the neighborhood trying to hit every house we could. I have to warn you though, this is a photo heavy...

Sometimes You Just Have to Give up and Walk Away

Colonial Williamsburg Homeschool Home Education Experience Three big brothers in the garden 1

When we went to Colonial Williamsburg in last month for the Homeschool Experience, I thought I would be able to get some good photos of the kids. They were looking at some old school style tools from “back then” and I thought that was the perfect time.

Homeschool Room Makeover Organizing the Curriculums and Closet

Homeschool Room Makeover Organizing my Teaching Space

Last year I just taught my oldest Nut and it wasn’t that big of a deal to have just 1 child’s curriculums to organize. I had a small space that I created in my office, but it still ended up all over the house. This year I took 3 shelf units from our bedroom...

Homeschool Room Makeover After the Walls are Repaired and Painted

Homeschool Room Makeover Organizing my Teaching Space

It took us 5 years to finally finish caulking around the windows, fill in the nail holes and paint the trim and the baseboards. The Classroom was Wing Nut’s bedroom for 7 years, E Nut’s bedroom for over 5 years and Little Nut Nut’s room for 2 years. Have you ever noticed that sometimes...

A Cavity-Free Trip to the Dentist!

Today we walked out of the dentist after the 3 big kids got their teeth cleaned and all three are Cavity-Free! This doesn’t happen very often. I think this might actually be the second time ever in the past several years. I feel bad for my oldest son, Wing Nut, he has my teeth....

Welcome to The Nut House…it is not just a catchy saying, well yeah it is, but not around here. We are all actually Nuts and have been for years. And when it comes down to it, my oldest Nut, Wing Nut made us that way. Which is fitting because one of my favorite sayings...

Where is Blogger the Frog? He is in the Snow Covered Shenandoah Valley!

A few weeks ago, we had another storm, I finally got around to posting pictures of the kids playing in the snow from that storm just the other day in this post.  It turns out there was a traveler who had spent time in Mexico with my bloggy friend Jenn. After that he went...

Another Virginia Snow Storm, Another Post Full of Snowy Pictures

Little Nut Nut and E Nut kicking back eating a snowball snack.

This is the storm from last week that kept my public schooler home from Friday to Thursday. Every once in a while a scooper comes along and pushes some snow around. The plow only drove down our street once, many of the streets are 3-4 inches deep with ice, full of pot holes and...

Fun Friday Photos – Christmas Vacation

Tunnel to go with tent for kids.

I wanted to get a good picture of the presents that I wrapped from different recycled materials, but I completely forgot. Santa brings presents in Santa paper, and there were presents under the tree from my parents, my brother and from Mr Wall Nut’s dad and Katie. This year, I used a lot of...

Holy Ton of Snow Batman! This is a Snow Storm the Kids will Never Forget

I am so happy I could burst! I am above my knees in snow and I can't even get to the ground because the snow was getting packed under my feet.

We got hit with the biggest snow storm in over a decade and I am pretty sure that this is the most amount of snow on record for the month of December Evah! I have been complaining about the lack of snow in the Shenandoah Valley for the past 7 years…and my husband has...
