Yesterday Mended Little Hearts of Charlottesville got a tour of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. We got a tour of the behind the scenes activity. They took us behind the check in desk, and we got to see where the luggage goes. Then they took us out back, and the kids got to watch the airplanes take off and land. They let the kids climb up into the HUGE fire trucks, and taught them about the differences between a typical fire truck, and the ones needed for the airport with the extra hoses for chemicals and fuels. The kids got to try on the firemen’s gear too, like the helmets, boots, jackets, and the cool air tank backpacks.
A local TV station was there to cover the whole thing. This is great exposure for our young MLH group, which was formed just this past spring. I was nervous, and repeated myself – it was so much fun though! Owain decide the interview was over for me at about 1:45 hahaha!

I have been trying to find this in a way that I can download and save for memories, but so far I can’t figure it out. If you know how I can do that so I can save this permanently, please leave a comment below to let me know!
