Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! The week is almost over, and I am feeling good, how about you?

This week has been a very productive one at The Nut House. I have managed to find a good amount of motivation to get things done around here. So far I am having a very energized week with very little stress. I have started packing up the house to get ready to open up the back of the existing house into the addition. I suddenly had the realization that I can pack up everything, and even though the rooms in the addition only have paint and some trim, with plywood for floors, that I can move all of the boxes out into the addition. Brilliant! I have been trying to figure out where I was going to store everything when it comes time to put plastic up over the doorway to the living room – which is the room that will be connecting to the addition. I am guessing it is going to take me about 2 months to pack up the house, and everything that needs to move out of the living room to find a place somewhere else. I also have to find a place to sleep since our room is on the other side of the living room. Things are starting to get a bit crazy, and I am going to need every bit of the next two months to get it ready. Of course, I am not setting any goals or deadlines, because I am done being disappointed when they don’t happen, so two months is more of a guess than a goal. Anyways, I am Thankful for Motivation and feeling good!

I am so very Thankful for Krysti, and all of her help with the kids this week. She just might be reason I have so much energy, and am getting so much done this week. You rock Krysti.

While I am extremely irritated that we have water leaking in around our kitchen window, and will most likely continue to leak in until all the snow and ice has melted sometime months from now. We still have about 6 inches of ice growing in our gutters, but hopefully now that about a foot of snow has been removed from that spot – well I have no idea what will happen! I am Thankful that the water has stopped pouring in to the house for the moment, but I am sure it will start up again. I guess in the spring we have to take the gutters down and reinstall them the correct way, which would be at an angle running away from the house. Sigh.

I am Thankful for all the help getting Recognition from the state of Virginia, and that Governor McDonnell recognized February 7th to the 14th as Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week. Hopefully by next year CHD Awareness Week will be recognized on a National level. Are you listening President Obama? Get your pen out and get ready to sign that proclamation Mr President! If you didn’t see my post from yesterday, there is an image that got emailed to me from the Governor’s Office, the hard copy is coming in the mail.

It has been a chilly week in the South, and I am Thankful for Hot Tea, and warm and fuzzy blankets. I am Thankful for the time I spend curled up on the couch with the Little Nuts watching the Olympics – Go Shaun White! You are our new CHD inspiration, You Rock!

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.

So what are you Thankful for today? It is so easy to join in and tell everyone.

Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:

1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The Nut House and http://ourhappynuthouse.com/ so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to MckLinky.

Not everyone has a blog, so:

2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.

3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, as a story, as one word, one sentence or just a picture. Have fun!
