Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here, and that means that my parents are coming for a visit tomorrow. They are staying for a couple of days and then taking Wing Nut and E Nut for their first ever extended vacation to New York! They are so excited, but honestly I am kind of sad that they are leaving.
They have never been away for more than a few days before, mostly because we like to spend our free time together as a family. My parents live so far away, they don’t get to see the kids that often, and when the do it is only for a few days at a time, before we know it, it is time for them to leave. Originally we were just going to let Wing Nut go because he was the oldest, but then we decided the 2 big kids needed a trip together. I think it will be fun for the 2 big kids to go off on a journey together to visit the home I grew up in, have my parents spoil them with attention, and take them out to do some cool fun big kid things without having to worry about little brothers and sister. No diapers, no feedings, no screaming babies and no little hands to steal their toys. I am so Thankful that my children get to go spend 3-4 weeks with my parents – even though I am going to miss them terribly, and will count the days until they return!
The other day I was looking online for some Wall-e decorations for Wing Nut’s room and I ended up finding a great deal on Walle beach gear, so all 4 boys got new swim trunks, swim shirts, flip-flops, and towels with Wall-e on every last one of them! It was amazing that there were 4 sizes for each to choose from and I got one of each. I love the way my kids are like little stair steps, and how sweet they look when they are all lined up. Honey Nut didn’t get a Wall-e swimsuit – but if there was one in her size I would have gotten one just because it would have been too hard to resist.
So what are you Thankful for today? It is so easy to join in and tell everyone.
Here is how Thankful Thursdays works:
1. Post your Thankful Thoughts on your blog. Somewhere in your post please mention The Nut House and/or http://ourhappynuthouse.com/ so that your friends, family and visitors know where to find other Thankful Thoughts. You can also grab my Thankful Thursdays banner and link to that. Once you have done that you can come back here and add your post to MckLinky.
Not everyone has a blog, so:
2. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave a Thankful Thoughts comment in the comment section.
3. You can show your Thankful Thoughts any way you like, as a list, as a story, a vlog, as one word, one sentence or just a picture.
Have fun!
