Blog365 Project

If you have been hanging around The Nut House for long enough, you know that I have moments of meltdowns that include postpartum depression, anxiety over Wee Nut’s Heart, and occasionally feelings of being overwhelmed. Those moments are usually followed by grand ideas of how I can keep myself from falling even farther into it all. They are my Ah-Ha! moments. My favorite Ah-Ha! moment so far has been Thankful Thursdays. Thankful Thursday is my way of pushing all the chaos aside, and finding all the good things I have and taking a moment to be Thankful for them. Some of those things are big, huge, mind blowing moments, and some of them are teeny tiny little things. In the end, it doesn’t matter if it big or small, I can always find something to be Thankful for.

My second favorite Ah-Ha! moment came last month when I was pulling myself out of a rather annoying postpartum depression attack. I had many ups and downs, and no matter what I did, I couldn’t get my head straight for months. Every little thing got to me, and I was fairly useless to my family, and to myself, and it was a struggle to get through the day. I couldn’t even manage to get anything posted here at The Nut House. I had tons of ideas, but when it came down to it I couldn’t do it.

I have been blogging since 2005, but until my little Owee was born, it really wasn’t important to me. It was more for fun, if I got around to it I, and I never had any focus with it or plans to make it into anything. After Wee Nut was born, I started updating it more to share what how he was doing with long distance friends and family. Eventually, it became a way for me to vent, and get my feelings out, and I noticed that it helped me to feel better. I started getting contacted by other Heart families and it felt good to connect with others who were going through what I was.

When I write here at The Nut House, there is a list of people I blog for.

  1. I blog for me, it makes me feel good, it is therapy.
  2. I blog for family and friends, both close to me, and as far away as Hungary. I keep them up to date on what is going on with my family.
  3. I blog for anyone in the CHD community. I raise CHD awareness, and offer support to anyone who has a child with a congenital heart defect.
  4. I blog for mothers who are wondering if they are suffering from postpartum depression. I share my struggle to let others know that they are not alone.
  5. I blog for everyone else who can relate to The Nut House, and even if you can’t relate, I hope you are at least amused by the little bit of Crazy that makes up our day!

About a month ago, I started to feel somewhat like myself, and I managed to get a few posts up. One thing I noticed was that it made me feel good. I felt like I was getting something done. The more I posted, the better I felt, and I remembered why I was blogging in the first place. I was chatting with another blogger, and she mentioned that she posted a photo everyday for 1 year. That sounded like something that I could do, so I decided to take the plunge, and do it. I am having a great time! I am finally getting projects posted, and photos of the kids I have been meaning to post.

This is a personal journey for me, to see if I can do it, but I would love it if you joined me! I know that there are sites that promote blogging every day for 30 days, but I decided that I needed to do something more, cuz that is the way I roll. I call it the Blog365 Project. I do most of my blog sharing on Twitter and have been using the hashtag #blog365 since I started this. Every week I start a discussion in my BlogFrog community where I talk about how things are going, share my posts and give blogging tips. If you would like to join the  Blog365 Project, you can join me in my BF community. You can post your latest posts and share how you are doing. You can also grab my Blog365 Project button that is in this post. I will have a button with code up on my sidebar for you to grab in the next couple of days as well.

Happy Blogging!
