I have mentioned many times about how much I love to make jewelry. For years it was my way to unwind and relax. It is a passion of mine that I have not been able to do since Wee Nut was born 2 1/2 years ago.
I have been working on moving my studio out of my old office space into my new space in the new part of the house for the past month or so. I am getting really close to being able to get back to work. I have been going through my beads for the first time in years and organizing them and my creating the perfect work space.
I have a lot of jewelry that I made around the time that Wee Nut was born that has been in storage. The only metal that I use is sterling silver, and many times I use lots of it. The thing about silver is that when it sits around it tarnishes quickly, so I have lots of jewelry that is tarnished. Some of it is not, but most of it is. I sat down a few times and started polishing it but there is too much for me to tackle at this time.
When I talk about having a lot of jewelry, I mean hundreds and hundreds of pieces. When Wee Nut was born, I was the most successful I had ever been and was getting ready to do bigger shows and more of them. I had planned on taking a bit of time off and getting back into it after Owee recovered from his second surgery and after the Holidays. I wasn’t planning on everything that is involved in caring for a child with a CHD and I wasn’t planning on getting pregnant again a few weeks after his second surgery.
I am so excited to start making jewelry again and start selling online again. I have decided not to sell at venues, and work completely out of my home. There was a time when it felt great to get out and do shows while hanging out with other crafters, but now things are different and I am very settled into my routine and staying home more. Maybe when the kids get older I will think about getting out and doing a few shows a year, but for now I am happy where I am in my life.
I have started listing my tarnished jewelry. I am taking quick photos of them and listing them for sale at 50% off. Tonight I am starting with earrings and hope to get all of my earrings listed within the next 3-4 days and then start listing all of my necklaces. I don’t list in my old store any more and opened a new store called The Nut House Creations.
I hope you like it! 🙂
