We had a few snow flakes yesterday that got the kids pretty excited, but it didn’t last for long. They woke up this morning looking for snow covering the ground, but there was none. They have been waiting so patiently for snow to come for weeks. I have been trying, and trying to explain to them that last winter was a fluke, and that we don’t usually get several feet of snow in The Shenandoah Valley. They are young, and they don’t quite get it. They also don’t believe me. I have heard that we are supposed to have another snow filled winter, which is fine by me. I love the snow. I have also heard that we are not going to get nearly as much as last year. So I guess we will wait and see!
We finally got a good start to the winter season this afternoon. We have had light shiny snowflakes falling for about 6-7 hours and there is a nice layer of white crystally snow covering our backyard. The little Nuts have been bouncing around the house since it started snowing, their eyes staring out the windows watching flakes fall to the ground. Movie night was hard to settle into as the kids kept getting up to check the level of the snow and make sure it was still snowing.
