Since I got my sewing machine last month I haven’t really done much with it. Mostly repairing clothing and blankets and making cloth napkins. Nothing too exciting. Nothing to complicated. I needed a bit of time to get to know my new machine and get back into sewing on a machine again. I used to work as a seamstress for a friend who makes elaborate Royal costumes for Renaissance Festivals. She had some of the most intricate designs that used all sorts of fabrics from thick velvets to thin lacy ribbons. Lots of practice for my girly girl that I will be making clothes for.
I started this project this afternoon after seeing TheTadey from Chaos Appreciation mention a skirt made from old jeans. I know the boys have tons of old jeans that are full of holes, and patches. I knew I was saving them for a reason. So I dug up a pair of Wee Nut’s holey jeans and an old skirt of mine from years ago that recently found it’s way back into my house via a box of random things my parents brought me on a recent visit. The elastic on the skirt was shot, but I love the fabric, so I kept it while trying to figure out what to do with it.

They are so cute! Your design is wonderful, I think I should learn from you and make more beautiful clothes for my daughter, will not noly save money but also can let them feel the love of me.

Thanks! I have a feeling that little girl’s clothes are going to be way cuter than the clothes I make for myself as well, lol.
