Lego Math Practice: A Homeschool Lesson with Free Printable

We all know how obsessed my kids are with Legos, all five of them!

My oldest, Wing Nut has hated Math for years. It is a never ending struggle in our homeschool day. I catch him playing with Legos when he is supposed to be doing Math.

Then I saw a fun Lego Math Practice created by Lisa from Chaos Appreciation. I couldn’t print this fun lesson out fast enough!  I would say it is more for 3rd-5th graders, but my three oldest Nuts in grades 1, 3, and 6 all did it and had so much fun. For the older kids, it is a great review lesson, and is a great hands on lesson that puts Math in a practical form for all ages. This lesson can be adjusted to be easy for the younger kids, and more complicated for the older ones by simply adding smaller or larger amounts of Legos.

It is a simple lesson, I printed the form, filled it out with the number of different Legos needed for the lesson, and then guided my 1st grader through it while the oldest kids worked independently. While helping Little Nut Nut out, I managed to forget taking photos of him.
