Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!

I hope I am not the only one feeling like this week is super crazy. I have been running around all week long feeling like I am constantly one step behind. Well, until today I was feeling more like I am several steps behind. Very much like that scene in Poltergeist, when the mom is running down the hallway as fast as she can, but it keeps getting longer and longer. Remember how she gets that burst of energy, and rushes forward? Right now I am starting that burst, and starting to catch up. I feel like any minute I am going to be flying slow motion down that expanding hallway ready to land head first into today.

The wonderful holiday I spend with my family who came from down from NY, and for the friends and family who live locally.

That this week is almost over! Woohoo!

That I just found out that the new Leapster Explorer will actually use the old Didj games. Wing Nut’s Didj bit the dust a few months ago, and I have not been able to get it working. After a very long time on the phone with Leapfrog yesterday, I learned that the old Didj games do in fact work in the new Explorer, even though we were previously told that they don’t. Now we can get an Explorer for him and that not only is it on sale, but they gave me an extra coupon code to use on top of the already sale price because the Didj has been discontinued, and can’t be replaced. I have felt so bad for him because he has had such a hard time with this system. So many times when we would download his progress, only some of his achievements would show up, and he would lose Bitz points. I also had a hard time loading his new skill levels to his game, and not all games would show up. So if I tried to change his math questions or spelling words to learn, they wouldn’t always work. Some games that he would play for hours never even showed up in his learning path. Poor kid would always get so disappointed, but I always figured an update would fix it, but it never did. Honestly, I can see why they phased out the Didj, it does not portray the high quality that we have always found with Leapster learning toys. Now we are excited that we can get him an Explorer, and he is so eager to get it that he is pitching in more than half of the money to purchase it.

Thankful that I finally figured out that Window Live mail thingy, that I got it set up, and discovered that I am pretty sure that it is the new Outlook Express. I could be wrong about that, but I don’t really know for sure.  When it comes to somethings, I am out of the loop and have no idea what I am doing. I thought that I had emails being sent to another address, and I completely screwed it up. Don’t ask how, I am trying to move on, and forget that I am a bit of a dork.

That my baby girl is learning new words and making crazy new faces every day. That little girl is such a Nut!

As always, I am Thankful for my happy, healthy, wild little beasties that run around my house all day long driving me crazy, I am Thankful that we still have a roof over our heads and for our wonderfully supportive group of friends and family and all the ways they help us.
